How do we change the world? One random act of kindness at a time. 💙

We always believe that one small act of kindness can create a ripple effect. And this story is a true testament to that!

We received this wonderful story from our beloved Remmie from @stichtingbewild who has been a devoted supporter of Blue Sky Society for many years!

Take a read, and just a heads up, you might need to keep a tissue close by!

“Inhe and I did not really know each other, just saying 'Hi' when we walked with our dogs the past years. Until she broke her wrist. She asked me to take her dog a few times a week for a walk. So I did. But soon I noticed that she also wanted to join the forest walks with us! So instead of taking the dog, I also 'walked' an almost 83-year-old lady and we both enjoyed our walks a lot.

Listening to all her stories in life, the way she makes contact with even the smallest snail in the forest, greats the animals, and wishes it a good day, gave me a big smile on my face. There are more people like me who enjoy nature with their animals so much!

I told her about the Blue Sky trips and the way we support different wildlife conservation projects and help them out in the field for a day.

Last week her plaster was taken off, and she gave me an envelope with R4000 to donate to the projects I'm gonna visit in May 2024!

It was not the last time we go on walks together, I'm happy we continue that!”

This is just such a beautiful reminder that this world is still filled with kindness, and we are so grateful for this contribution. Thank you Remmie and Inhe! May your kindness and generosity return to you a hundredfold.

We live in a world in turmoil socially and environmentally and the darkness sometimes feels overwhelming. It is my experience as one ordinary human that Tolkien was right, small acts of kindness and love do make all the difference. And if enough of us take action in these small everyday ways, the darkness stands no chance of engulfing us or the planet.
