In 2016, spurred on by the alarming rate of poaching that is decimating Africa’s elephant population, Blue Sky Society founder, Carla Geyser, travelled 16 000km across 10 countries with a group of women who shared a passion for wildlife conservation. The Journeys with Purpose: Elephant Ignite Expedition saw the team visiting 37 conservation organisations, engaging with communities along the way and distributing 20 000 educational booklets. It was an epic expedition that connected localised communities with conservation champions with the purpose of saving Africa’s majestic beasts and raised funds for 10 remarkable organisations dedicated to protecting wildlife. So began the Journeys with Purpose legacy.
