Discovering Wholeness: Exploring Nature

Hey there, fellow adventurers and Blue Sky family! Can we just take a moment to soak in the beauty of East Africa? I mean, WOW! The landscapes, the wildlife, the adventures, the peopleโ€”I’m currently heading back after a six-month contract working at Singita lodges in Grumeti Reserves, and I am truly grateful for the opportunity that I have experienced, the level of service I have seen and the people I have met over the past few months. Sometimes, we need to do things that aren’t on our life path but help us re-evaluate life, what’s important, the people we want to keep in our lives, and how we can stay relevant in these dark times worldwide. There is so much noise around us in the world, and living in this safe little bubble is the best thing I have done in a while for my soul. It also reminds me of the importance of nature, how to slow down, and just be present. I know we hear people and read articles on social media, telling you that all the time. But when you are watching a sunrise or sunset, and there is no Wi-Fi connection or disturbances, it does make you realize that maybe that is something I want MORE of this year.

But, let’s get really real for a sec as reality approaches. While we’re busy admiring the wonders of nature in our makeshift virtual moment in our head, the world is going through some serious changes. It’s like nature’s saying, “YOU, slow down, reconnect with yourself, and let me heal your soul.”

So, here’s the deal I have made with myself and I am hoping you will join me: we’re all about embracing wholeness at Blue Sky Society Trust. That means taking care of our minds, bodies, and spirits. Yup, it’s time to ditch the digital noise and get lost in the tranquility of the great outdoors. Who’s with me?

Now, let’s talk about giving back because that’s where the REAL magic happens. Whether we’re on one of our Journeys with Purpose, raising funds for conservation, or spreading joy through our Soul2Sole initiative by gifting school shoes to kiddos in need, there’s always something awesome we can do together. The together part is also what I find so vital. We can always do things for ourselves if our egos need attention, but what’s the point? It’s SO much more fun when we do things together. When we explore together. When we sit around a campfire and laugh until the tears roll down our cheeks, and our bellies feel like they are about to explode. Now, That is living and how I want to roll out this year.

Our motto can be? Be Kind. Slow Down. And Reconnect with yourself through nature. Simple, right? These principles guide us as we work towards protecting our planet and lifting up communities in need. It’s all about those small steps adding up to something huge. One good deed becomes manyโ€ฆ.and before we know it, small changes become big changes.

And hey friends, if you’re in a position to donate, we’d love to have you onboard as a monthly member. But we get it if that’s not your jam and your cash flow isnโ€™t looking too flush at the moment. There are plenty of other ways to make a differenceโ€”like volunteering, spreading the word, or just being a ray of sunshine in someone’s day. The small things do matter.

Now, let’s talk about the future. 2025, here we come! We’ve got some seriously epic expeditions planned in six different countries, and let me tell you, it’s going to be a blast. So why not treat yourself and sign up? Trust me, you won’t regret it. I need this as much as I am sure you do. I need to sit around a fire under a blanket of stars, I need to be on the road with dust in my face, and I need to disconnect from the noise and anger of the world. So if South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, OR Rwanda have ever been on your bucket list email me carla@blueskysociety.co.za and I will keep you posted as the adventure unfolds.

Together, let’s embrace wholeness, reconnect with nature, and make some serious waves of positive change. Because when we come together, there’s nothing we can’t achieve. So what do you say? Ready to join us at Blue Sky Society Trust and make a differenceโ€”one step at a time? Let’s do this! ๐ŸŒโœจ From right now.
