JWP Bewild 2025 – Fundraising Expedition Summary
JWP Bewild trip brought together a powerful team of eight women—including six from the Netherlands—for a 15-day, 2,373km conservation road trip across South Africa and Botswana. Led by Carla and her passionate crew, the journey combined adventure, purpose, and community, raising an impressive R150,000 for frontline conservation projects. Starting in Johannesburg, the team travelled through Dinokeng, where they tracked cheetahs and rhinos and visited the Heartfelt project, a women-led social enterprise. In Limpokwena, they supported the Endangered Wildlife Trust’s vulture disease surveillance work following a mass poisoning incident. After crossing into Botswana, the group immersed themselves in the wilds of the Tuli Block, helping to protect ancient baobabs and track elephants. At Mohave Bush Camp, intimate wildlife sightings and bush dinners added to the magic before the group returned to South Africa. In the Soutpansberg mountains, they joined EWT Medike’s rewilding efforts, laying trail markers along the BeWild Trail. The final days took them to the SA Wildlife College to meet the elite K9 anti-poaching unit and into Kruger National Park with the EWT Wild Dog project looking and learning about wild dogs. The expedition concluded in Dullstroom with one last African sunset and full hearts.
Funds Raised: R150 000 (**Thanks to various fundraisers and inspired by Remke Lasance from BEWILD foundation)
Donations supported nine critical conservation and education initiatives, including the Dinokeng Cheetah Project, Heartfelt Project , EWT’s Birds of Prey and Wild Dog programs, the SA Wildlife College K9 Unit, Baobab protection in Botswana, multi tools for field rangers in Medike, BSST’s wildlife education booklets, branding support, and a small donation towards a new Rhino Education’s ‘Gig Rig’ for rural school outreach. More than a journey, BeWild 2025 was a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when purpose meets passion and when we all work together to make a difference in this world.
