Report on Bathroom Renovation at St. Christopher’s Dormitory

Introduction: The Blue Sky Society Trust, with the generous financial support of Onelogix Cargo Solutions, has successfully renovated the bathroom at St. Christopher’s Dormitory. This facility, which serves underprivileged children at the St. Martin’s Diocesan Home for Children, had a bathroom that was 50 years old and in desperate need of renovation.

Condition of the Previous Bathroom: The old bathroom was significantly outdated and unhygienic. It featured an old geyser, deteriorated fixtures, and surfaces that were no longer fit for purpose. The space had not been updated in decades, which contributed to its poor condition and inadequate sanitation for the children relying on it.

Impact: The renovation has significantly improved the quality of life for the children at St. Martin’s Diocesan Home. The updated facilities provide a cleaner, safer, and more comfortable environment for the 37 girls and 37 boys, aged 3 to 17 years, who call this home.

Renovation Details:

Thanks to the kind donation from Onelogix Cargo Solutions, the renovation was comprehensive and transformative:

  • New Shower: A modern shower was built, waterproofed, and tiled to ensure durability and hygiene.
  • New Toilet and Wash Basin: Both were replaced with new fixtures, improving both functionality and cleanliness.
  • Flooring: The floors were waterproofed and tiled, which is essential for maintaining hygiene and ease of cleaning.
  • Plumbing: New copper pipes were installed to ensure reliable and efficient water supply.
  • Walls, Ceilings, and Doors: These were all freshly painted, enhancing both the aesthetics and the overall environment of the bathroom.
  • Lighting: New light fittings were installed to improve visibility and safety.

Additional Contributions: In addition to their financial support, Onelogix staff also collected and donated various items to the home. This gesture of goodwill further exemplifies the power of collaboration and community spirit.

Acknowledgments: The Blue Sky Society Trust extends its deepest gratitude to Onelogix Cargo Solutions for their generous financial contribution and the support of their staff. Your contributions have made a significant difference in the lives of these children and have helped create a more welcoming and functional living space.

Conclusion: This renovation project highlights the impact that effective collaboration and generosity can have on improving the lives of those in need. The new bathroom at St. Christopher’s Dormitory stands as a testament to the positive change that can be achieved through community efforts and support. Thank you to everyone involved for their commitment to enhancing the well-being of the children at St. Martin’s Diocesan Home for Children.
