DAY ONE & TWO: Arrival in Johannesburg
Arrive at OR Tambo Airport (before 10am). Enjoy a scenic 1 – 2 hour drive to Dinokeng Game Reserve where you’ll be met by Kamilla and Carla, your hosts for the next few days. On day two we will do some cheetah conservation work with the Dinokeng conservation group.
Accommodation: Greenfinch Lodge
Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
DAY THREE & FOUR: Dinokeng Game Reserve to Limpokwena
Today we have a 6-hour drive to the banks of the Limpopo River to Limpokwena Nature Reserve. An oasis on the South African side of the Botswana border (and open to the Thuli Block), the reserve is committed to preserving 2400 hectares of South African bush where the Limpopo and Mogalakwena Rivers converge. Here they consider the fauna and flora partners and guides rather than assets, and wildlife moves as freely as the guests do.
The Island Camp is an exclusive, rustic tented camp set on an Island in the Limpopo River – the perfect spot to unwind and take in the surrounding wilderness! Elephants, hippos, and hyenas are regular visitors, and there are plenty of crocodiles in the surrounding pools. There is no cellular service or WiFi (there is a hand-held radio for emergencies), but there is electricity and plug points in the main kitchen and tents.
Accommodation: Island Camp (Limpokwena)
Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner (S/C)
DAYS FIVE TO EIGHT: Limpokwena to Tuli Block (Botswana):
We’ll embark on a 1-2 hour drive, crossing Platjan Border into the Tuli Wilderness in Botswana where we will spend the next four nights at Tswehe Lone Tree camp (experiencing staying in dome tents and bucket showers). We’ll explore the area, do game walk and visit a local community or school at Lone Tree Camp, while constantly being surrounded by the natural beauty of the Tuli Block.
Accommodation: Lone Tree Camp (Tswehe Wildlife Reserve)
Meals: Breakfast, lunch & dinner (catered)
Coaching at Lone Tree Wilderness Camp (By Kamilla Norrman)
Overview: Whilst nestled in the serene and inspiring Lone Tree Wilderness Camp, the four-day coaching program is designed to harness the transformative power of nature and guide you through a journey of deep personal reflection and growth. Wildlife observation through safari drives and bush hikes, school visits, and evening campfire gatherings all interlink, creating the ideal setting for introspection and empowerment. The program aims to help participants emerge with a renewed belief in themselves, a greater understanding of their inner desires, a deeper connection to nature and others, and a confident outlook on the boundless opportunities ahead.
Day 6: Awakening Awareness & Intention Setting
You will begin the journey with a morning safari ride, allowing the wild beauty of the landscape to awaken the senses. The day’s coaching will focus on setting intentions with a workshop entitled “Connecting with Your Inner Self.” Participants will explore their core values and aspirations, setting the tone for the transformative experience ahead. The evening will close with a campfire circle, sharing initial thoughts and setting personal goals.
Day 7: Mindfulness & Presence in Nature
After a guided bush hike, participants will delve into mindfulness practices. This session, “Living in the Moment,” will teach you techniques for staying present and cultivating awareness. The practice will be reinforced by observing wildlife and reflecting on the interconnectedness of all life. The day will end with a fireside meditation and reflection, fostering inner peace and clarity.
Day 8: Overcoming Limiting Beliefs & Embracing Empowerment
A day of exploration will be complemented by the workshop “Breaking Barriers.” This session will focus on identifying and overcoming limiting beliefs, encouraging participants to rewrite their narratives. Guided by the expansive wilderness, participants will learn to see beyond perceived limitations. An evening storytelling session around the campfire will allow for the sharing of breakthroughs and newfound insights.
DAY NINE & TEN: Soutpansberg
Today we cross back into South Africa and head to the breathtaking Soutpansberg area. The VhaVenda call it ‘tha vhani ya muno’ (the mountain of salt). Rising like an island from the surrounding bushveld flatlands, the forgotten Soutpansberg is South Africa’s best-kept secret and one of the country’s most unique and unexplored natural areas. The name ‘Soutpansberg’ comes from the large natural salt pan to the northwest of the range. Spending two nights at Leshiba Wilderness (a malaria-free reserve), guests may experience over 380 indigenous tree species and an abundance of animal and bird life, as well as enjoy sundowner game drives, and guided nature walks learning about trees and plants.
Coaching at Soutpansberg
Day 9: Vision Crafting & Future Planning
The final day of coaching will be dedicated to envisioning the future. After a morning safari, participants will be encouraged to dream big and consider the infinite possibilities that lie ahead. The coaching session, “Designing Your Path” will help crystallize these visions into actionable plans. The program will culminate in a celebratory campfire gathering, where you will share your visions and commitments, solidifying the internal shifts experienced.
