Embark on an extraordinary 9-day journey with the JWP Water & Desert 2025 Trip, starting in Maun, the gateway to Botswana’s natural wonders. Explore the vast expanse of the Central Kalahari Area, including the iconic Great Tsau Hill, within a 400-square-kilometer sanctuary brimming with diverse wildlife and captivating landscapes. Activities range from witnessing breathtaking sunrises and sunsets to spotting nocturnal creatures on exhilarating night drives, and exploring the savanna on thrilling game drives or e-bike safaris. Immerse yourself in the timeless way of life of the San Bushmen, one of the oldest societies on Earth, and gain insight into their deep connection with the environment.

Continue the adventure with a scenic drive to Maun for an overnight stay before journeying to Mopiri. At Manju Adventure Camp in the heart of the Okavango Delta, indulge in year-round aquatic activities such as boat cruises, fishing, mokoro trips, nature walks, and cultural village tours.

Conclude with a scenic flight over the Delta to Khwai in the Mababe River Private Reserve, offering a glimpse into the eastern gem of the Okavango Delta. Stay at Chora Adventure camp  for access to Chobe National Park, Moremi Game Reserve, Khwai, and Savute areas, where days are filled with enthralling game drives and walks amidst the pristine wilderness.

Day One to Three – Maun to Central Kalahari

Upon arrival at Maun airport, you’ll be warmly welcomed and transferred by road south to the heart of the Central Kalahari with Roots & Journeys. Here, amidst the vast desert landscape, you’ll camp under the twinkling stars, immersing yourself in the serene beauty of the surroundings. The days are filled with opportunities for exploration, including walking, hiking, and stargazing sessions. Additionally, you’ll embark on thrilling game drives and e-bike safaris, discovering the hidden wonders of the Kalahari. A highlight of this experience is the chance to meet the San Bushmen, learning from them about foraging, wilderness survival, and traditional arts & crafts during an unforgettable Bushman encounter. Accommodations at Great Tsau Hill provide a rustic yet comfortable retreat, offering an authentic closeness to nature that enhances the overall experience. All meals are included, ensuring you’re nourished and energized for your adventures.

Day Four – Central Kalahari to Maun

After three enriching days in the Central Kalahari, you’ll bid farewell to the desert and return by road to Maun for an evening of relaxation. Accommodation awaits you at Discovery B&B (or similar).

Day Five & Six – Maun to Mopiri

The journey continues with a flight to Mopiri and boat journey to camp, where you’ll spend two days indulging in water activities amidst the tranquillity of the Okavango Delta. Mokoro trips and boat excursions offer unique perspectives of this pristine ecosystem, allowing you to immerse yourself in its natural beauty. Accommodation at Manju Adventure Camp ensures comfort and convenience throughout your stay. All meals are provided, allowing you to focus on enjoying the Delta’s wonders without worrying about logistics.

Day Seven & Eight – Mopiri to Khwai

Embarking on a scenic flight over the delta to the Khwai area, you’ll journey through wilderness areas teeming with wildlife. Two days at Chora Adventure Camp offer ample opportunities for game drives, bush walks, and wildlife encounters, allowing you to deepen your connection with nature and appreciate the stunning biodiversity of the region. Fully inclusive meals ensure you are well-fed and ready for each day’s adventures.

Day Nine – Maun

As the journey nears its end, you’ll be transported by road back to Maun, where you’ll be dropped off at the airport to catch your flight home, carrying with you cherished memories of Botswana’s diverse landscapes and rich cultural experiences. Before departure, breakfast will be provided, ensuring you begin your journey home on a satisfying note.
